The creator
Allah is the one who has created everything; us human beings, the animals, the sea, mountains, trees, plants, everything. He is the one who has provided us with everything that we could possibly ever need. He watches over us and is familiar with all that is in our hearts. Common human or science also dictates that everything has a creator, a watch has a watchmaker, a computer has a technician, and a building was created by a mason.
The Holy Quran
In the same fashion, it is impossible or foolish to perceive that the earth (or the galaxy so to speak) was created on its own. All the things we see around us and beyond had a creator too and that is Allah Almighty. Through careful Quran recitation with English translation (if Arabic is not your language), you will see that Allah has mentioned it in many places across the Quran that He was the creator and how He created:
“It is He who created for you all of that which is on the earth. Then He directed Himself to the heaven, [His being above all creation], and made them seven heavens, and He is Knowing of all things.” (The Quran 2:29)
These verses of the Quran were revealed to man about 1500 years ago. It is a great miracle of nature that it has survived any changes to its scripture. It is another proof that these are words from a divine entity because some of what is mentioned in this book is being proved by science now, numerous centuries later. Hence, any man with understanding can recognize its truth.
A Muslim’s obligation
It becomes a Muslim’s obligation to develop a love for Allah, it is imperative as well for his success in both of his lives. There is a wide variety of reason why we Muslims should:
1. Forgiveness
This is one of the attributes of Allah that we take for granted. When you come to think of it, we sin a lot. We defy His orders and do the things more than we can remember! Despite all of this, Allah chooses to forgive us if we ask or beg for His mercy. Such is His great nature, as written in chapter 39:
Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah . Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful." (The Quran 39:53)
This is a great reason for us to love Him. It must also be the fear that must be the driving force behind our abstention of sinning, for we must imagine what could happen to us if He chose NOT to forgive us?
2. The all provider
There are more creatures on this earth than we can ever be able to count. Yes, Allah has a means of providing to each one of them. Allah does not forget about any of His creations and thus, does not leave anything unattended.
Conclusion
The above are only two of the reasons mentioned for a Muslim to love Allah whereas there are other reasons and they are countless. One of the biggest reasons to love Him is the presence of the Holy book Quran in our midst which is a source of great guidance for us, without it we could have been lost and Hell would have been our only resting place.
